This telescope was owned by the inventor and aviation pioneer J.C.H. Ellehammer. Ellehammer had a fascination with space and used the telescope to get a little closer to the stars and planets. Thus, Ellehammer joins the ranks of amateur astronomers who, with the help of a telescope, were able to enjoy observations of the starry sky.
Humans have always been fascinated by space. The first to use the telescope in a scientific context was Galileo Galilei, whose observations of Jupiter around 1600 provided evidence that the Earth was round. This got Galileo into trouble with the Church. Although he was forced to disprove his theory, he had to spend his remaining years under house arrest.

Dette teleskop har været ejet af opfinderen og flypioneren J.C.H. Ellehammer. Ellehammer havde en fascination af rummet og brugte teleskopet til at komme lidt tættere på stjernerne og planeterne. Således indskriver Ellehammer sig i statistikken af amatør-astronomer, som ved hjælp af et teleskop kunne nyde observationer af stjernehimlen.
